9. Leonardo DiCaprio & Claire Danes (Romeo + Juliet)
Baz Lurhmann's 1996 adaptation of the William Shakespeare tragedy was well-received upon its release 18 years ago, and its two young stars were praised for their performances. Leonardo DiCaprio was on the cusp of super-stardom, while (at just 17), Danes was seen as one of America's brightest young actresses. All appeared to be good between the two, but little did we know at the time, there was friction on set. Despite being several years younger than DiCaprio, who was 21 at the time, Danes claimed that the soon-to-be Titanic star was immature during filming. In contrast, he felt the Homeland actress was uptight and mature beyond her years. They would often never speak in between takes, although Danes has since admitted that there may have a been a little bit more to their relationship than her naive 17-year-old self realised at the time.
There was definitely a spark, but I dont think either of us knew how to handle it. So, we sometimes sort of ignored each other. It was too big for us to really accept.
DiCaprio may have missed his chance back then, but he's certainly made up for lost time in the many years since, dating virtually every supermodel under the sun.
