1. Bill Murray - Rushmore
Ever since Bill Murray met Wes Anderson, his career got a makeover. I didn't grow up with the Murray of the eighties and nineties, and I generally avoid those silly comedies (sorry, fans of those movies), so the cynical, indie William Murray of now is all I know. And it started with Rushmore. Already one of the greatest films of all-time, Murray turns in a great supporting performance alongside young Jason Schwartzman. The actor plays Herman Blume, a generally unhappy man who is in love with the same woman as the protagonist. The acting is brilliant, and it's fun to see a comedian portray such a miserable character. Don't get me wrong, though, the film is still hilarious, full of witty and dry humor. It also managed to spark a working relationship with between Wes and Bill. Since this film, Murray has been in every Wes Anderson movie.
