1. Kevin James
Oh, Kevin James. I'm sorry that you've fallen in at 1st place, because I'm sure you're a really nice guy, and that you're doing the best you can to have a career and make people laugh. I just don't understand who or why anybody ever thought you were funny. Is it because you're fat and goofy and well-meaning? Is it because those qualities make you ripe for "getting into scrapes" and extensive slapstick sequences? It's ponderous, to say the least, because I don't remember you ever saying anything even mildly amusing. Kevin James has been trying to make people laugh for ages now, and though his movies rarely ever get anything but negative to mildly passable reviews, the man returns time after time to try again, usually with another bizarre premise that prompts reactions like: "Jesus,
another Kevin James movie," or "Seriously? He's talking to a gorilla?" Maybe back in the day when he was the star of
King of Queens, the sheer likability his working class character oozed made him one of TV's go-to nice guys. But one struggles to think up even a single comedy movie in which Kevin James is being hilarious. Maybe it's bad luck, bad scripts and bad movie ideas. Maybe he can make a career out of playing likable louts. But can he play funny? I honestly don't think so.
