10 Comic Book Characters That Movies Totally Butchered

1. Mr Freeze (Batman and Robin)

Batman and Robin Terrible though these comic book characters were in their adaptations, not one is as soul-crushingly, horrendously awful as Mr. Freeze from Batman and Robin (a-ha! you thought we were done with Joel Schumacher!). It's impossible to see how anyone managed to watch this on the set without bursting into a fit of laughter; I love Arnold Schwarzenegger, but he was terribly cast as Mr. Freeze, combined with the fact that the script was terrible. Ironically, though, Arnie ended up being the saving grace of the film, as he was clearly the only guy that was in on the joke, fielding out the ice-puns ("Ice to see you", "Cool off", "What killed the dinosaurs? The ice age!", "Let's kick some ice!") and basically having as much fun as possible while everyone else around him looked totally miserable. Still, in terms of the character, Arnie's Mr. Freeze is still an absolute travesty, if one that at least puts us in paroxysms of laughter. Which comic book characters do you think have been butchered the most? Let us know in the comments below.
