10 Comic Book Movie Performances That Ruined Actors' Careers

When you look back at some of the films Sean Connery made, it's amazing that he even got to The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen in the first place. That he apparently turned down The Lord Of The Rings and Gandalf for it suggests he probably deserved all of the fall-out it caused.

After making himself a legend, Connery took one last paycheck in the wayward ensemble, which should have been a hell of a lot better, but ended up feeling lost at sea and showy without anything to back up the ego.

Most of that came down to the decision to make it a numb-skulled blockbuster instead of the clever adaptation it deserved to be, and such was the scale of the mess that Connery and director Stephen Norrington quit the industry.

What He Did Next

Absolutely nothing, aside from turning down offers that could at least partly wipe away the bitter taste left by this crock.
