10 Comic Book Movies That Should Have Been R-Rated

1. AVP: Alien vs. Predator

alien-vs-predator-762898-1 Of the 10 films that encapsulate both the Alien and Predator franchises, Paul W.S. Anderson's Alien vs. Predator is the only one to be rated PG-13, much to the disdain of fans on both sides of the fence. How can characters whose respective pre-occupations are to a) bore a hole through your skull and b) blast it off with a shoulder cannon, possibly work under the PG-13 banner? They didn't, and the resulting movie is a boring slog lacking in any enjoyable violence, instead utilising fast cuts and irritating editing to mask this fact. What's hilarious is that, realising the error of their ways, Fox capitulated and allowed the sequel, Alien vs. Predator: Requiem, to be R-rated, and though this time the gore was undeniably awesome, the plot was somehow more inane and dis-interesting than in the Anderson film. Still, there's no denying the fact that had Anderson kept true to the vein of the original IPs, this could have been another franchise for him to inevitably run into the ground (but at least it would have been gory). Which PG-13 rated debacle annoys you the most? Let us know in the comments below.
