He's fast-becoming the most controversial figure in Hollywood, quoting Eric Cantona, storming out of press conferences, and turning up to film festivals with paper bags on his head. But there's no denying that Shia LaBeouf has something that casting directors want. And that something, in the case of Nymphomaniac, maybe isn't quite what you'd expect.

Despite admitting to Playboy in 2009, "I'm not extremely well-endowed", LaBeouf sent intimate pictures of himself to producers of the film when they asked, before filming an example of him and his girlfriend, just to prove his credentials.

The movie boasts real sex scenes, which LaBeouf has made sure to defend, claiming, "Sex is beautiful if it's done right, and I wouldn't just do it for no reason."
