8. Severus Snape, You ARE The Father
Harry Potter’s paternity takes a turn for the scandalous in this
fan theory that suggests his dad may not be James Potter but former Head of
Slytherin, Professor Severus Snape instead.
Supposedly sometime after Snape and a young Lily Potter parted ways after the former fell in with the bad crowd and called her a mudblood, they somehow reunited and presumably had a steamy affair which resulted in the conception of the boy wizard.
Naysayers point out this theory couldn’t be true as Harry looks so much like his ‘dad’ James Potter, but consider this: what if Lily realised Snape was Harry’s bio dad just prior to her murder at the hands of Voldemort and cast a spell that made him look like James, thus preventing He Who Must Not Be Named from finding out both Harry’s true paternity and the fact that Snape was a double agent?
It could also explain Snape’s conflicted behaviour towards Harry, practically abusing him half the time because his spell-induced resemblance to James Potter reminded Snape of the person who stole his one true love but also ensuring his safety at all costs because he knows Harry is really his and Lily’s lovechild.
