10 Crazy In-Universe Rules Star Wars Characters Must Follow

6. Female Stormtroopers Must Train Harder

Even though several female Imperial officers have appeared throughout Star Wars, all the Stormtroopers were male. Until Captain Phasma appeared in The Force Awakens, one would safely assume women in The Empire weren't allowed to serve as soldiers.

However, there is no law restricting women from donning the white helmet and armour. Although they don't appear in the original trilogy, George Lucas confirmed that female Stormtroopers were stationed on the Death Star and other Empire-controlled units.

Because the female enlisted cadets are trained separately, you would think this is the main reason why we rarely see them.

But there is another factor why women are rarely spotted marching through Star Destroyers and Empire-seized stations. Because Imperials didn't have the decency to relax the training for female cadets, women have to work much harder physically to match the male trainees.

Although many women fail to graduate, the few who pass tend to be far more diligent workers. Because of this, one can only imagine the gruelling experience Phasma must have endured to work her way up the ranks to become the head Stormtrooper.
