Young Wednesday (played by Christina Ricci) is a psychotic, gloomy, cynical little lady who enjoys studying the bermuda triangle, strapping her brother Pugsley to an electric chair and sleeping with her arms crossed like a vampire. While this is all quite hilarious in the context of the film imagine if you ever came across a little girl like this in real life. How would she even function in society? For instance; in one scene Wednesday and her brother are selling lemonade. A girl scout walks up to them and asks if the lemonade is made from real lemons. Wednesday assures her that it is (though it's probably made from toxic waste and gasoline). The girl scout agrees to buy a cup of lemonade if she buys a box of her girl scout cookies for which Wednesday replies: "Are they made from real girl scouts?" What little girl behaves and speaks like this? This is, of course, funny in the film but if you ever meet a little girl like this in real life you should probably keep away.
