5. The Matrix
Although at first there doesn't really appear to be anything wrong with this close-up shot of Neo opening a door in
The Matrix, peer a little bit closer. See that large thing that looks like it's being covered up with a black sheet? That's a camera, and behind it, a cameraman. And once you notice it's actually there, you can never go back to not seeing it. Kind of like... the Matrix itself? Was this, in actuality, a sly reference to the deeper themes inherent to the film? Did the Wachowski's want us to discover this and make the connection? No, but a guy can dream.
