10 Criminally Low IMDb Movie Ratings You Won’t Believe

5. Predators

IMDb Rating: 6.4

The xenomorph may still be kept chugging along, with sequels to prequels and retconning follow-ons currently planned, but, just over a decade on from the Alien Vs Predator disaster, the Yautja seems dead cinematically. Not from lack of trying, either; before Ridley Scott could confuse everyone with Prometheus, Robert Rodriguez produced a thrilling, back-to-basics reboot of Predator that honoured the original movie while also deepening the creature's culture.

Despite being a fun film that hit just about anything a fan of the Arnie-classic would want (jungle setting, nods to Dutch, a heavy covered in mud), along with plenty you didn't realise you did (Adrien Brody as an action hero, a samurai fighting a Predator, Danny Trejo), Predators performed rather ignominiously, doing adequate at the box office, receiving mixed reviews from critics and, worst of all, scoring only 6.4 on IMDb.

Now, the film isn't an instant classic and is certainly indebted to John McTiernan's film to a fault, but it's still an enjoyable action movie that has a personality (something many modern examples forget), totally undeserving of sitting only two points above the rightfully maligned Predator 2.
