10 Cringiest Moments In The Star Wars Prequels

8. Darth Vader's Rage

Showcasing Anakin Skywalker's transformation into Darth Vader was the main draw of the prequels, and audiences finally got to witness the moment they'd been waiting for in the closing moments of Revenge of the Sith.

Unfortunately though, the execution here left a lot to be desired.

The scene starts off fine enough, with a slow, methodical build where we see the pieces of Vader's suit being attached to Anakin's charred remains. But then, it ends with an overly-cheesy "NOOOOOOOOOO", as Vader yells his head off like he's just stood on a plug while barefoot.

An angry Vader using his Force powers to wreck the room is good stuff, but the scream is a bit too dramatic for its own good, and it just doesn't fit the scene.

It is pretty funny in other languages though - so at least there's that.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
