10 Cringiest Moments In The Star Wars Prequels

4. Almost Everything Involving Jar Jar

Jar Jar Binks is such an easy target that it almost feels unfair to continue picking on him, but there's a reason he's been the butt of the joke for over two decades at this point: the character, simply put, is painful to watch.

From his grating voice and speech pattern (Yousa thinking yousa people gonna die?") to his facepalm-worthy clumsy antics, he makes you want to pull your hair out, making The Phantom Menace almost unbearable to watch at times. It's telling that his screen time was significantly reduced in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, and that he's barely been mentioned in Star Wars canon since.

The only redeeming thing we can say about this bumbling Gungan is that he was, at least, supposed to be silly, unlike all those other cringey prequel moments.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
