10 Cringiest Moments In The Star Wars Prequels

2. Anakin Lusting After Padmé

It's one thing to have a couple of lines that make viewers wince, but it's another when Anakin comes off as a total creep who's lusting after a woman who doesn't seem interested in him.

But that's the exact vibe his relationship with Padmé gives off at several points in Attack of the Clones, with Padmé even telling Anakin that he makes her feel uncomfortable, only for him to stare at her with a look that can only be described as "serial killer marks his next victim" as she walks away.

There's also the scene where the two sit in front of a fire while Anakin vents about his "agony" over the thought of not being with Padmé, only for her to shift uneasily in her seat, trying to avoid his advances.

It makes for some uncomfortable viewing, but if we're talking pure, unfiltered cringe, then there's one Anakin/Padmé moment that has the high ground above the rest...

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
