10 DC Storylines That Need To Be Adapted To Film
1. Batman: The Long Halloween
Yes, I know its cheap to have so many Batman stories in one article, but there is a very good reason for that. It's because they are some of the best tales in comic book history, and The Long Halloween poses no exception to that.
We have seen many movies showing why Batman is The Caped Crusader, but we have yet to see a film showing us why he is The World's Greatest Detective. The Long Halloween story revolves around a killer named Holiday who only kills on holidays, and it takes place during Batman's early years, thus is considered a sequel to Year One (another reason why it should be made into a movie). It takes Bats on a year-long journey, testing him as to whether or not he is capable of being Gotham's Savior. Just imagine a scene where Bats is interrogating a revolving door of classic villains like Firefly or Professor Pyg or even The Mad Hatter - it would be full of Easter Eggs for hardcore Bat-fans, all while being a movie that has everyone invested in it.
The main reason as to why this needs to be adapted into a motion picture is because it would bring a new element to the superhero movie genre. There have been dozens of comic book action movies, but zero mystery movies, and it would bring in a breath of fresh air for people getting tired of comic book movies. The world has seen what Batman can do in combat, but we have yet to see how great of a detective he truly is.
