10 Dead Comic Book Movies That Need To Be Revived
4. Hawkman
All right, who the hell doesn't want to watch a film that was described as "part Indiana Jones / Da Vinci Code, part Ghost", if only to see how gloriously terrible it might be? These days, with superhero films being such a Serious Thing, it seems there isn't much room for campy, ridiculous material (the closest thing recently is probably Guardians Of The Galaxy, but even that film took itself pretty seriously at times).
Enter Hawkman. Back in 2011, producers Gregory Noveck (RED) and Adrian Askarieh (Hitman) teamed up to try and get the project off the ground. They released the previous description as well as a bit more explanation, claiming romance would be a deeply important part of the narrative given how adaptations traditionally see Hawkman working with Hawkgirl or Hawkwoman.
In the middle of a landscape full of cinematic universes and deadly serious overarching villains, a film like Hawkman - a singular film aware of its own camp ridiculousness - would be a lovely breath of fresh air.
