10 Deadly Directors Who Just Love To Kill Characters

4. Robert Rodriguez

machete Robert Rodriguez doesn't ply by many rules. He makes crazy, violent films that soar off the screen. His big break came when he made, El Mariachi. This was a simple tale of revenge that blossomed into a series by spawning two, increasingly violent sequels. He moved on with a little help from his buddy Quentin Tarantino and made the film, From Dusk 'Til Dawn. A combination movie that blended noir with vampires, the movie was batshit insane. (I promise, that pun was NOT intended) There was a pretty good cast put together for this one: George Clooney, Harvey Keitel, Juliette Lewis, Salma Hayek, Cheech Marin, Danny Trejo, Fred "The Hammer" Williamson, and Tom Savini. Only Clooney and Lewis made it out alive. Crazy, bloody, violent but supremely entertaining, they don't make them much more fun than this one. Rodriguez went on to direct half of the Grindhouse films with Planet Terror and then unleashed Sin City on us all. An adaptation of Frank Miller's graphic novel, the depiction of violence in the film hit new heights for the filmmaker. Shit, they killed Marv twice! Recently, Rodriguez killed half of Hollywood off in Machete and is looking to finish the job soon when he unleashes Machete Kills on us.

I'm married and live in New York with my wife and pets. I'm a writer and definitely not a comedian (just ask my wife). I've successfully linked my twitter, goodreads, facebook and google+ pages although the successful aspect of all that is up for debate. I also started my own blog on wordpress and have just finished my first novel, The Violent Winds. Now it's time to try and trick some unsuspecting fool into buying it.
