10 Debunked Movie Myths You Totally Believe
2. The First Disney Animated Movie - Snow White And The Seven Dwarves
Many people would be quick to tell you Snow White and Seven Dwarves was the first Disney animated movie, but you'd technically be wrong to say that.
Although it was the first full-length movie (at least by modern movie standards), The Academy Award Review of Walt Disney Cartoons is actually the first animated feature from Walt Disney. Though both films were released in 1937, the Walt Disney Cartoons came out seven months before Snow White.
A collection of five Disney shorts, the film clocks in at 42 minutes, whilst the Oscars classify a feature film as being at least 40 minutes long.
Some discredit the film as a feature length piece because it's made up of previously released material - including The Three Little Pigs and The Tortoise and the Hare - though the Oscars accept it as a movie because of its length, thus beating Snow White to the punch.
