10 Decadent Delights Of X Rated Cinema

10. Vixen! (1968)

23.02.2013vixen Directed by Brobdinaggian Boob King Russ Meyer, Vixen! Is probably the most erotic of his many sexploitation films. It was also one of the first films to receive an X rating from the newly formed MPAA. It is not tempered by the manic humour of his other efforts such as Supervixen or Beneath the Valley of the Ultravixens. It does pile on the satire at the end (do you honestly think RM could do a straight out serious erotic film?) but I thought it was a more interesting film to bring you than Mondo Topless which is just huge breasted women dancing in a crappy fashion to bad 1960s music. Vixen is a sex crazed woman who lives in the wilderness in Canada. Bored because her husband is away on work, she uses her looks and sexual charm to seduce any man she comes into contact with. This includes a mountie, a couple her husband brings home and her own brother. Everyone knows Vixen is a slapper except poor old hubby. His helicopter gets shot down by communists - cue communist political debate. Vixen is also a racist cow. Still the film is a sexy one and worth watching for the nudity of the incredible Erica Gavin as the sexually voracious Vixen, maneating any poor soul (lucky soul?) who crosses her path. Russ Meyer - we salute you!

My first film watched was Carrie aged 2 on my dad's knee. Educated at The University of St Andrews and Trinity College Dublin. Fan of Arthouse, Exploitation, Horror, Euro Trash, Giallo, New French Extremism. Weaned at the bosom of a Russ Meyer starlet. The bleaker, artier or sleazier the better!
