10 Most Despicable Movie Characters Since 2000

9. Jordan Belfort (The Wolf Of Wall Street)

Jordan Belfort may not be a murderer, but he is undoubtedly one of the great movie villains of the 21st century. There are times during The Wolf Of Wall Street when you completely forget Leonardo DiCaprio is playing the part of someone who has actually done all of these terrible things, and it's impossible to deny that the real-life Belfort was an awful human being at that point. Having worked his way up from being an unemployed former stockbroker to a multi-millionaire running his own flourishing brokerage firm, Belfort appears at first to be an incredible businessman who can sell pretty much anything. However the slimy banker is actually running a 'pump and dump' scheme, in which, to put it bluntly, the company is scamming its customers out of huge amounts of money. Belfort and numerous other employees eventually get their comeuppance, and having served a jail term and acted as a police informer, the slimy New Yorker is still paying back his victims to this day. DiCaprio's performance is fantastic, showing a complete lack of concern for anyone but himself and showing no remorse for those he has fooled down the years. There is not a good bone in his body, and although he is not your archetypal villain, the drug-addled Belfort has to be up there with the most morally corrupt businessmen of the last 20 or 30 years.
