10 Directions A New Batman Trilogy Could Take

8. A Career Spanning Years

The best thing about the older, more experienced Batman we're getting in Dawn Of Justice is the thought of all that baggage which follows him. This is a grizzled Batman who has been operating for years, and has (presumably) already met the worst Gotham has to offer. The presence of The Joker, Killer Croc, Harley Quinn and Deadshot in Suicide Squad would seem to suggest a rich history that any subsequent Batman trilogy would do well to explore. The most frustrating part about Christopher Nolan's series? That all Bale's Batman really accomplished during his reign as caped crusader was to fight a handful of his rogues gallery before retiring. Twice. They don't all have to take centre stage and you can have most of them as Easter eggs/background glimpses, but if you want a living, breathing DC Cinematic Universe, you'd do far worse than filling it with some of the greatest heroes and villains to ever populate a comic book.
