10 Directions A New Batman Trilogy Could Take

4. Be The Bat

What does being the Batman mean to most people? For those who've played the Arkham Asylum, it's the opportunity to effortlessly beat the snot out of swathes of people, brutally and without restraint. In Arkham City, it's swooping majestically across the skyline, your grapnel gun speeding you from one end of the city to the other in a matter of minutes. And in Arkham Knight, it's blasting through the streets in your ridiculously overpowered Batmobile, just like the fabled Bat out of Hell of which a certain Mister Meat Loaf once sang. The Arkham series of games offer a level of comic book fun we've never really gotten from a Batman film to date, whether it's watching a chubby Adam West oh-so-slowly inch his way up the side of a building, Michael Keaton unable to turn his head during a fight, or Christopher Nolan's stubborn insistence on 'realism'. This new DCCU offers an opportunity for the most comic book accurate Batman yet. They've already gotten the costume right - now make us believe that Ben Affleck is the Bat.
