10 Directions A New Batman Trilogy Could Take

5. The Man Behind The Bat

The most intriguing part of that Dawn Of Justice trailer is its haunting image of Bruce Wayne running, uncostumed and unprotected, into the rubble of Metropolis to rescue an innocent child from the Kryptonian carnage and destruction. While we're all eager to see a fully realised, comic book accurate Batman swinging across rooftops and blasting the Batmobile through the streets of Gotham, one hopes they keep Wayne in mind throughout. After all, it was Nolan's decision to concentrate upon Wayne as a character, rather than just his colourful enemies, that made Batman Begins such a success. So give him flaws, motivation and an arc - and be sure to let Affleck show off that dead-behind-the-eyes charm and charisma that made his performance in Gone Girl such a resounding success. But, please, not the dead-behind-the-eyes charisma vacuum that ruined Daredevil. It's a fine line.
