10 Directors Who Need To Join The DC Cinematic Universe

4. Matt Reeves

MattreevesWhy should Reeves join the DCCU? The theatrical trailer for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes dropped recently, and it already looks to have improved on the few flaws present in predecessor Rise of the Planet of the Apes (like having us believe James Franco is a scientist). Reeves has taken over the franchise and will be directing the next installment as well, and his previous directorial efforts Cloverfield and Let Me In were both solidly impressive outings. Reeves is showing a talent for directing preexisting material, which is a needed trait in whoever follows Snyder. The Apes franchise is especially noteworthy here - anyone who can breathe fresh life into a film series that old deserves a go at a DC Comics property. What should Reeves direct? Superman, if Zack Snyder ever unlatches his talons from that series. Reeves will likely grow in popularity if the Apes films do well, and a fresh direction for Clark Kent may be needed if Snyder continues to garner negative criticism for the Man of Steel era.
