8. Matthew Vaughn
Vaughn has, to date, directed two major superhero movies, and while people argue whether or not Kick-Ass is a stroke of genius or an offensive mess, most people seem to agree that X-Men: First Class was an excellent superhero movie, particularly since it revitalised the dying X-Men franchise. After all, before First Class you had Origins Wolverine and, in my opinion far worse, X3. He brought something new yet familiar to the table that renewed interest in this new vision. Vaughn can do wonders in a very similar way for Batman. People are familiar with Nolan's bat, so something too different will not sit well with us. However, we need a fresh start. We need to divorce the public's perspective on Batman from Nolan's movies if we hope to move the Dark Knight into a larger DC cinematic universe. This is where Vaughn comes in. Not only is he talented enough to bring about a new Dark Knight film, but he can do it in a way that will appeal to everyone. He doesn't need to copy Nolan. His own style, as seen with Kick-Ass and First Class, balances out fantastic with real, while keeping it grounded in the best sort of way. In other words, he's perfect.
