Long gone are the days when Olivia Wilde was taking bit-parts in movies like Alpha Dog, as although she never quite made the shift into tentpole-leading territory, she did manage to get behind the camera instead. Her 2019 high school sex comedy Booksmart led the way for what is still a promising directorial career, but a hiccup by the name of Don't Worry Darling has recently threatened to derail her before she's really begun.

Wilde was a notoriously unsettled presence behind the camera during filming for Don't Worry Darling -- the primary reason the original male star Shia LaBeouf left the movie and had to be replaced by Harry Styles. The pair traded barbs and stories via the press, but rather than being fired as Wilde suggested, it turned out LaBeouf quit due to the lack of prep time and a tension brewing between him and the director.

But that, unfortunately, is not where the story ends, as Wilde and the film's lead Florence Pugh had a deteriorating relationship as production went on. Pugh stuck it out but it has been reported that she did not see eye-to-eye with Wilde from early on, and eventually wound up having screaming fights with the director on set.

Poor little Harry Styles, what must he have been thinking?
