10 Directors Who Drove Their Movie Stars To The Edge

4. Michael Bay And Megan Fox - Transformers: Dark Of The Moon

Don't Worry Darling
Paramount Pictures

While nobody could accuse Michael Bay of being a great director, nor Megan Fox of being a great actor, there is no denying the pair were instrumental in making a resounding financial success of CGI white-noise-fest Transformers.

Acting opposite Shia LaBeouf for the first two movies, Fox famously exited or was fired from the Transformers franchise (depending on whose account you take) during production of the third installment, Dark of the Moon, after tensions and conflicts with Bay reached boiling point.

Following her experiences on the set of the first two films, Fox described Bay as akin to both Napoleon and Hitler on set, reporting that he made his stars (including LaBeouf) violate their insurance terms, and felt that she was made to do things that caused her to "almost die" while filming.

With no love lost between the pair, this very public response from the star (reported in an interview with Wonderland) is almost certainly what did for her, with not only Bay but producer Steven Spielberg taking umbrage at her using comparisons with one of the greatest tyrants and war criminals in recent history.
