Let’s talk about Alfred Hitchcock. You know him, he was the stout, British filmmaker who was known to be a terror on set. Oh, he was also a literal genius who basically invented the slasher film genre with his classic movie, Psycho. Hitchcock was, is, undoubtedly one of the greatest filmmakers of all time.

And his favorite movie was Smokey And The Bandit. If you haven’t seen it, Smokey And The Bandit is a film starring Burt Reynolds, Sally Fields, and Jackie Gleason. The plot is simple, Reynolds (as The Bandit) is hired to transport a truckload of Coors beer from Texarkana to Atlanta in under 28 hours. He runs afoul of Gleason’s Buford T. Justice who chases him all the way to Georgia. It’s little like Mad Max: Fury Road, but with a much smaller special effects budget.

Anyway, Hitchcock loved the movie so much that it’s rumored to be the last film he watched before he died. Wrap your mind around that!
