10 Directors Who Should Lose The Right To Make Movies

8. M. Night Shyamalan

M_Night_Shyamalan_37834 M Night made himself a household name and publicly acknowledged king of the twist with The Sixth Sense. Since then he has made some divisive films while his most recent outings are recognized worldwide as irredeemable garbage. Personally I even found Signs stupid as it is a film about aliens deathly weak to water whom try and overthrow a planet that is in fact 2/3rds water. It just lacks logic and completely killed the film. His twists eventually got so bad (Lady In The Water, The Village) that he stopped shoehorning them in and tried adapting a beloved cartoon (Avatar: The Last Airbender) instead (which he claimed to have been a fan of despite being incapable of getting Aang€™s pronunciation correct). That bombed so hard that he went on to make After Earth with Will and Jaden Smith. Surprising no one, it sucked and was insanely boring. Not even Will Smith could elicit some of his natural charisma or sell the story. More intriguingly, what is next for M Night? Hopefully retirement.
