10 Directors Who Suffered The Most In 2015

6. Michelle MacLaren (Wonder Woman)

In a movie world which seems to be trying to find more strong female filmmakers, Michelle MacLaren€™s name is often one of the first brought up in the discussion. So when it was announced that Warner Bros was pursuing a female filmmaker to helm Wonder Woman, she seemed like the perfect choice and the studio agreed. Fans were collectively excited about her, as she's one of the people most responsible for Breaking Bad€™s success, not to mention having also directed episodes of The Walking Dead and Game Of Thrones. That was, until it came out what her rumoured vision for the character was. Though the official reasoning for her dismissal was €œcreative differences,€ the real reason seems to be a lack of trust in her abilities. Considering how small-time directors like Colin Trevorrow (Jurassic World) and The Russos (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) have fared with no big-budget experience, it€™s a little concerning that MacLaren was not afforded the same chance. Perhaps it had something to do with her troubling rumoured desire to include a talking tiger sidekick. She€™s definitely got the talent for film, so hopefully this only an initial setback and not a sign of things to come.
