10 Disappointing Movies That Killed Our Nostalgia

4. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Before the '80s came along, few would have thought that one of the most popular media franchises ever would be based around a team of teenage anthromorphic turtles named after Renaissance artists, trained in ninjutsu by a giant rat. When Michael Bay announced that he was making a movie based on the Ninja Turtles, it's fair to say the reaction wasn't entirely positive.

The end result isn't a total disaster, but it's also not particularly entertaining. Lacking the charming wit of the animated series and with too few action sequences to get excited about, Bay's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles turned out to be more dull than anyone could have imagined.
