4. The Jungle Book

Based on the Rudyard Kipling novel of the same name, Disney's The Jungle Book tells the story of a young boy abandoned in the forest who is raised by its inhabitants. Mowgli learns to sing and to dance with bears and monkeys and generally just has a great oul' time.

And then there's the vastly different Kipling novel. A very evidently scorned Mowgli decides to take his revenge on the people who apparently have captured his biological parents and uses his forest friends to commit a vicious cull of the nearby farming village. Basically the long and short of it is that the survivors of this cull than believe Mowgli to be an evil spirit haunting their village.

He does eventually find peace among another village but it's still a far cry from the song and dance of Disney's catchy tune machine from 1967.
