10 Disney Villains Who Went Beyond Evil

This list isn’t complete without Satan himself. Chernabog is the God of Evil and the mighty lord of Bald Mountain. He is only seen for a short moment as he is a product of the movie Fantasia – an experimental project which saw different pieces of classical music married to enchanting animation.

What you're going to see are the designs and pictures and stories that music inspired in the minds and imaginations of a group of artists. There are three kinds of music on this "Fantasia" program. First, there's the kind that tells a definite story. Then there's the kind that, while it has no specific plot, does paint a series of more or less definite pictures. And then there's a third kind, music that exists simply for its own sake.

In the Night on Bald Mountain segment, there is no dialogue or backstory to give any context to Chernabog’s introduction but he doesn’t need one. It’s just obvious from his expressions, his physicality and devilish features that he is demonic.

He creates a literal blazing hell on earth – summoning spirits to life just to destroy them again for pleasure, terrorising the village of Bald Mountain, turning beauty into ugliness, causing chaos and mass murder though raising the dead. It’s a nightmarish sequence which burns through your very soul. It only ends when the devil himself can't stand the natural morning light.

He is the purest representation of raw evil.
