10 Disturbing Movie Moments You Never Noticed
8. Nemo's Caviar - Ratatouille
Alright, brace yourselves for this one, because it's about to get rough.
Even accepting that most Pixar movies operate on two levels - one for kids, one for adults - this is one downright upsetting implication no matter your age.
In Ratatouille, take a close look at the pot of caviar that can be briefly seen in the pantry at Gusteau's restaurant while Remy (Patton Oswalt) gnaws away on some cheese.
Though it's hidden in shadow, the words "Nemo Brand" are just barely visible at the top of the container, and because caviar is fish eggs, Pixar is basically half-jokingly implying that the caviar in this restaurant is sourced from Nemo's family - presumably his late mother Coral (Elizabeth Perkins).
Now to be fair, caviar generally comes specifically from sturgeons, but given that Finding Nemo literally kicks off with Coral being eaten along with all-but-one of her eggs - that egg being Nemo - it's a pretty damn dark joke.
