Just because something wasn't done on purpose, doesn't mean it can't be effective.

Just ask your parents about your own birth... okay, that was mean, sorry.

In 2002's The Ring, Naomi Watts' character Rachel Keller is attempting to protect her son's life from an evil demon. Why is the boy in danger? Because he watched the cursed video tape, that's why.

Leave him to his fate, he brought it on himself.

Rachel goes to collect little Aiden from her sister Ruth's house, alongside ex-boyfriend Noah. Knee deep in ghoulishness by this point, we're all expecting something terrible to happen to her, but few of us were expecting this.

In one shot, a shadowy figure can be seen stalking Rachel from the lobby. But this isn't the work of the cursed tape. It's the work of bad staging.

This is actually the silhouette of a crew member who was stood in the wrong place at the wrong time. Despite not being planned, this moment actually adds to the tension of the movie, as we've got no idea who this is watching our heroes.

Unless you read this article and spoil the fun for yourself... again, sorry.
