10 Dumb Villain Schemes Even A Child Could Have Stopped

4. John Geiger - Speed 2: Cruise Control

Speed 2The Plan: Terrorist John Geiger (Willem Dafoe) has hijacked a luxury cruise liner, hacking into the ship's computer controls and setting it on an unavoidable collision course with an oil tanker. The Flaw: Geiger's work with computers has somehow caused him to suffer from copper poisoning, meaning that he has to use leeches twice a day to get rid of the excess copper. Even though the scientific veracity of this is completely absurd, we have to take the film on its own terms, in which case it's really damn easy to take this guy down. Carrying leeches around with you isn't the most practical form of medicine, so they're never going to be far away from the guy; just toss them overboard and the guy is screwed. He'll either drop dead (which doesn't really solve the whole collision course problem), or better yet, will be so desperate for the leeches that he'll course-correct things and be on his merry way.
