10 Dumbest Decisions In Action Movie History
5. Taking King Kong Off His Island - King Kong
No matter the version - the 1933 original, the 1976 remake, the 2005 remake, or even the 1962 King Kong vs Godzilla - it has never proven to be a good idea to take a massive, raging monkey away from his home and into a massive city full of people.
While it's been different characters who have seen dollar signs inherent in showing off a giant primate, they've all suffered from the same shortsightedness when it comes to just how bad an idea it is to toy with the emotions of an ape in love by using the object of his affection as bait. Worse, the damsel in question usually ends up being put in some kind of danger back in the big city, further enraging Kong and leading to climactic showdowns on top of a skyscraper.
And it's not just the promoter who 'steals' Kong who's to blame! Why are the police, entertainment officials, big businesses, and city governments all going along with these plans to put Kong on display like a dancing monkey? His inevitable escapes and rampages are on all their heads.
You can't really blame Kong, after all. He just wanted a simple life of being worshipped by natives and beating up dinosaurs.
As an aside, you really can't beat the 1933 original version.
