10 Dumbest Decisions In Superhero Movie History

Now, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) gets cut a lot of justifiable slack for being a young, naive kid, but even so, his decision to give Tony Stark's (Robert Downey Jr.) E.D.I.T.H. technology to Quentin Beck aka Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) shortly after meeting him was just...baffling.

The film makes a decent effort to depict Beck as a suave and charming "cool uncle" figure for Peter, and Peter's desire to put the superhero shenanigans on the back-burner for a while is palpable, but uh, maybe this should've been run by Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders), or just any other adult first?

Obviously the post-credits scene reveals that Fury and Hill were being impersonated by the Skrulls and therefore lack their typical wisdom, but even so, it didn't require a preternatural level of intelligence to appreciate that giving such power to a newbie on the scene was a touch risky.

As a result, Mysterio is able to launch his revenge crusade against Tony Stark's legacy and very nearly succeed, until Spidey defeats him and Mysterio ends up killed by his own tech.

Clearly Peter learned a hard life lesson here about trust and responsibility, and from a character perspective it totally works, even if it's nevertheless frustrating to watch as a viewer.
