DeNiro, one of the greatest American method actors to ever step in front of a 35mm camera, willingly reduced to a total, unadulterated parody of himself. Honest to god, watching the clip above, it almost feels like I'm watching a f***ing pod person perform; that the real DeNiro is in fact stored in a tube somewhere underneath Hollywood against his will. In many ways, that scenario would in fact be less depressing than admitting the truth: that Robert DeNiro has fallen from grace. No, I'm being too harsh. DeNiro is still great. When he wants to be. Apparently as a child, DeNiro was a huge fan of the Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoons and so agreed to it as a sort of pet project. Why not? He's DeNiro, he can do whatever the f**k he wants. Still, any fan of the legendary method performer will cringe, furrow their brown, might even shed a solitary tear at how far the mighty have fallen, should they ever sit down to willingly watch this movie, willingly or otherwise.
