10 Essential Shows You Need To Watch On Disney+

7. The Simpsons

The Mandalorian
20th Century Studios

While binge watching ALL episodes of The Simpsons would be ludicrous (the show, which has been airing since 1989, is clocking at 684 episodes and counting), but this classic animated American family sit-com is perfect for casual watching. Dip in and out of your favourite episodes and feel swept away for nostalgia, or dare to explore later seasons and a Springfield which seems almost unfamiliar as the show attempts to navigate the modern world with varying levels of success (seriously, seeing characters using iPhones for the first time is weird).

Okay, the new seasons aren't so bad, but it's great being able to relive the show's best moments (the family finding Santa's Little Helper remains the most emotive scene in animated television to this day) whenever you want.

The show may have run its course a long time ago, but everyone's favourite family will remain a cultural touchstone, whose influence can still be felt today. It's hard to imagine we would have modern animated classics like Rick and Morty and BoJack Horseman without it, let alone the numerous imitators it *ahem* 'inspired' (whatever happened to Family Guy?).
