10 Essential Spider-Man Villains Not Yet Used In The Movies

6. The Jackal

That Spider-Man's a popular guy, huh? Of all the superheroes, few have quite so many supervillains out to get them for sheer vengeance's sake as Spidey. To add another one to the list, The Jackal is a scientist and university lecturer out to get Spider-Man after blaming him for the death of Gwen Stacy.

Obviously the Stacy-free Homecoming universe would have to modify these origins somewhat (no-one needs to see another dame thrown off a bridge in a Spider-Man movie anytime soon) but The Jackal is a great-looking foe and a nifty alternative to that other bright green Spidey-hating supervillain. In the funnyboooks, the Jackal is perhaps best known for his part in the infamous Clone Saga, for which the villain put his scientific expertise to good use in cloning both Peter and Gwen, resulting in years of messy, confusing plot arcs and the whole Ben Reilly/Scarlet Spider thing.

It's unlikely any of this would ever make it to the MCU in its current iteration, but in the wake of Doctor Strange and the Guardians of the Galaxy, who knows how crazy Marvel is willing to get? Genetic meddling is one way of keeping (a) Spider-Man around.
