10 Essential Superman Villains Not Yet Used In The Movies

3. Mongul

Most fans will probably be familiar with Mongul through his appearances on STAS and both Justice League animated shows. He's a nasty one, and while Darkseid is still the de facto cosmic tyrant, Mongul is right up there with the very worst DC has to offer.

The ruler of Warworld, Mongul first encounters Superman when he imprisons the Kryptonian to partake in his gladiatorial arena. Superman, finding common ground with some other Warworld warriors, rebels, leaving Mongul's premiership in tatters before the character later interacts with another Superman villain, who just so happens to be the Cyborg version of Clark Kent.

Mongul's most heinous act in the comics however, has to be the time he destroyed Coast City. His acts spurred Hal Jordan to turn evil during the infamous Emerald Twilight saga, and while he's yet to land a punch as grave as that on the Man of Steel, a Thor: Ragnarok-style gladiatorial romp would suit any future Superman film.
