Can you call really George Clooney a failure in this (or any) category? After all, he's got a nice little list of action roles that only someone who didn't completely botch it in those movies could have. Right?

But yes. Heck yes you can call George a failed action star.

He's one of the greatest working actors we have, one of those low-key, multi-faceted guys who can play drama, romance, and humor all with a graceful ease. Just don't ask him to do anything super physical. That's not his style. Clooney is more of a "peripheral" action guy, where the physicality is secondary to whatever caper he's involved in.

From Dusk Til Dawn was incredible, but it certainly didn't put him on the map as an "action guy". And his more straightforward action fare hasn't aged particularly well, with The Peacemaker and Out of Sight eliciting either shrugs or quizzical looks from the average film buff. And then there's Batman & Robin, which effectively kicked the franchise in the balls and sent it to its knees for a decade.
