10 Even More Movie Villains You Didn't Realise Actually Won

1. Nicole - 40 Days And 40 Nights

The Dark Knight The Joker Heath Ledger

40 Days and 40 Nights is a rom-com in which Matt Sullivan (Josh Hartnett), following a devastating break-up, decides to abstain from any sexual activity for the 40 days of Lent.

This results in Matt's co-workers creating a betting pool website to see how long he can "survive," which Matt's cruel ex-girlfriend Nicole (Vinessa Shaw) decides to participate in, believing that she can "persuade" Matt to break his streak.

On day 40, though, Nicole enters Matt's room while he's sleeping and handcuffed to his bed - in an attempt to avoid touching himself - and rapes him as he's unconscious, shortly before the 40 days are up.

Beyond how inherently sickening this act is - despite the movie itself bafflingly downplaying it - it creates an inevitable rom-com misunderstanding as Matt's new love interest, Erica (Shannyn Sossamon), assumes Matt cheated on her and storms off. Victim blaming much?

By film's end Matt manages to smooth things over with Erica, yet this "happy" romantic ending totally glosses over that Nicole both got away with sexual assault, surely traumatising Matt in the process, and also won a ton of money from the betting pool.
