10 Exact Moments Fans Turned On HYPED Movies
5. Indo-Raptor's Cheeky Wink - Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
2015's Jurassic World was not a perfect film by any means (what was up with Katie McGrath's grotesquely protracted death scene?).
But the movie provided much of what fans wanted from a reboot of the beloved franchise, with sparky chemistry between Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, fun and dynamic dinosaur action, and a compelling new monster in the form on the Indominus Rex.
The film's 2018 sequel Fallen Kingdom was in trouble from the start. Its odd episodic structure meant the movie was effectively a remake of The Lost World for the first hour, only to become a bizarre "dinosaurs let loose in a gothic mansion" thriller by the end.
But it was in this closing half that the film's self-referential streak of humour went a touch too far.
As the villainous hunter Wheatley enters the Indo-raptor's cage, most audience members knew where the sequence was headed. Is it a little over-the-top to think a dinosaur could be clever enough to play dead? Sure, but the film informed viewers that this hybrid is hyper intelligent, so this one gets a pass.
But the dinosaur offering a cheeky, fourth-wall-breaking wink to the camera before it attacks?
This would be over-the-top for The Flintstones.
