8. Genetically Modified Giant Locusts - Jurassic World Dominion

While few were expecting great things from Jurassic World Dominion, at least it had to benefit from uniting the new heroes with the legacy ones as they collective fought some dinosaurs, right?

Well, for reasons that will never make sense to anyone except filmmaker Colin Trevorrow, Dominion revolves as much around dinosaurs as it does genetically engineered giant locusts. Yup.

The plan of the primary villain, Tim Cook-esque tech honcho Lewis Dodgson (Campbell Scott), is to use his breed of locusts to devour the crops of rival corporations, allowing his company Biosyn to control the global food chain and rake in colossal profits.

A baffling amount of the movie's runtime is devoted to this plot, and once you realise Trevorrow's actually committing fully to the nonsense, it becomes clear that he's got little interest in delivering a satisfying finale to the Jurassic World trilogy.

Locusts, man. In a movie about dinosaurs running rampant around the world, who gives a single s**t about locusts?
