10 EXACT Moments You Gave Up On These Movie Franchises

4. Wolverine's End Is Too Emotional To Follow - Logan

Similarly to Avengers: Endgame's emotionally-charged final moments, James Mangold's Logan felt like the sort of entirely moving end to a series and franchise that didn't need to be followed.

It was always going to be, of course, because the likes of New Mutants and Dark Phoenix were very much in the works around the time of its release. But that still didn't change the fact that many would've likely been just fine with Mangold's masterpiece sitting as the final-ever Fox X-Men tale.

Finally allowing Hugh Jackman the chance to really explore what an R-rated Logan would look and feel like, with his battered Wolverine caring for a Charles Xavier suffering from highly destructive dementia and going full savage alongside his newly discovered daughter on a number of occasions, the film's affecting final moments were as impactful as any of the impalings that came before it.

Rather than being a triumphant last hurrah for both Jackman and the series as a whole, though, those aforementioned other X-flicks soon came... and hugely disappointed.

But in all honesty, most had checked out of the franchise the second Logan died with his heart in his hands.

And it's that perfect end that has left those same folks feeling a little concerned about his upcoming appearance in Deadpool 3. Hell, Mangold himself isn't exactly keen on Marvel bringing back the icon (via Variety) after beautifully ending Logan's journey in 2017.
