Let It Go is obviously about her repressing her powers, but could quite easily be a parable for sexuality too. In a nice bit of trivia, the official pop mix of the song was recorded by Demi Lovato, who herself is bisexual.

Elsa is one of the most bankable modern Princesses, but does that make her more or less likely to be Disney’s pick as their first LGBT Princess? Certainly, she would survive any potential ‘won’t somebody please think of the children’ controversy, but they might prefer to just avoid controversy entirely. Only time will tell.
