4. Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara/Noomi Rapace), The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (2011/2009)
Lisbeth Salander in both the Swedish and the American versions of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, is a badass chick. Sporting a dark, punky, fashion sense and an attitude to match, Lisbeth is one tough cookie. At the tender age of only 23 years old, Lisbeth works as a private investigator for a security firm, and uses her incredible skill of hacking computers. Lisbeth is troubled and antisocial, due to psychologically traumatic events in her life including rape, but she proves that she is still capable of being compassionate and loyal towards her employer turned friend turned lover Mikael Blomkvist. Lisbeth is a strong, powerful woman, and is definitely one of the coolest women to grace cinema and literature in recent years.
